Senior Camp Courage Wrap-Up

Senior Camp Courage saw 32 girls coming to us from near and far—with one girl even flying in to us Cairns—and it was with a mix of nerves and excitement that they all piled into the bus that would take them to the stunning campgrounds at Ivory’s Rock. 

Junior Camp Courage Wrap-Up

Held in the stunning natural surrounds of Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens auditorium in the heart of Brisbane. Camp Courage’s first ever 21 participants were in for a real treat, with beautiful sunny weather across the three days and a heap of activities designed to build their confidence and courage.

A Sports Life All Day Event

Sunday 23rd September saw the final event in our All Day Event series of 2018: A Sports Life.  60 teen girls were inspired and moved by raw insights from 9 extraordinary Athletes and trainers who between them have decades of elite sporting experience in the always impressive Stadium at The Precinct.

A Designer Life All Day Event

62 girls, 9 Designers and creativity bursting at the seams. The recent A Designer Life All Day Event had a special energy to it: the sparks flew between the creative elite and the creative girls eyeing up their future pathways in order to follow their passion.

21st Century Scientist All Day Workshop Event

60 girls, 11 Scientists and a ridiculous amount of inspiration. The recent 21st Century Scientist event left everyone suitably exhausted but with a verified belief that girls in STEM really are changing the world.

We were SUPER EXCITED to introduce our new GSF.Connect platform at an exciting launch event held at The Precinct in Brisbane last week, designed to connect young women from both metropolitan and regional areas with inspirational women from around the world.

CEO Series All Day Workshop Event

60 girls, 3 CEOs, 3 Founders, 7 hours of power! The CEO Series was an ENORMOUS day filled with questions and answers, interactive workshops, inspiring stories and real-world guidance. (Oh and then there was the amazing food…!)  We were so thrilled to see all of the girls make the most of their time with the Extraordinary Women there to work with them, and many went home with photos, email addresses and LinkedIn connections to call upon in the future.

Women In Tech

Kicking off 2018, and sure to start with a bang, we hosted our first Fireside Roundtable event featuring five industry experts from the Tech space! With boundless avenues to peruse in this landscape we gave teen girls the opportunity to ask questions and dig deeper into what it really entails to work in tech.

To say that the audience of teen girls left fired-up and ready to rock would be an understatement – but not before Sonia had some interesting insights to reveal about the audience…

Be Bold, Be Brave, Go Rockclimbing

By immersing teen girls in experiences without a curriculum, they develop a sense of self, build confidence and understand what it takes to work as a team. All skills that will transfer into any school endeavour or career progressions they may have in the future.

Ky Furneaux: Feed The Beast Recap

After a busy day which started with teaching QLD Scouts how to rockclimb at Kangaroo Point, Ky Furneaux swapped the sneakers for a pair of (boot)heels, and presented to an energised audience at our Feed The Beast Talk later that night.

Hitting the ground running

On November 3rd, an eager bunch of girls participated in FUEL’s first workshop: Stress, Your Mind & Your Muscles hosted by Science of Fitness. Decked out in their fitness gear ready to dive in, the girls were introduced to workshop host, Rory, who took them by surprise with his fast facts about why the brain is the most important factor in exercise, and how it can be utilised to reduce levels of stress and anxiety.
