Girl Now December: The Last One

Throughout the last 11 posts in this blog series, I have reminded everyone to live in the present and enjoy every moment. However, this month, I am going to say that every so often it isn’t such a bad thing to look back and acknowledge the past for it only makes us more grateful for things we have in the present. This post is going to look back at the year that was 2019.

What a year! Not only can we look back on what this year meant for the world, but we can also look back on what it meant for each of us. In 2019 I graduated high school, travelled overseas, made some pretty big achievements in my sport, attended some very awesome events run by Girl Shaped Flames and, most importantly, made memories that will last a lifetime and lived in the moment. Take a moment and think about all the things that happened for you in 2019.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][mk_image src=”https://girlshapedflames.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/circle.jpeg” image_size=”medium” align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1576125988176{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]This year was hard, extremely fast even though those few weeks of exams seemed to drag on forever, stressful and tiring but it was also exciting, fun, fantastic and extremely memorable. Looking back now though, I wouldn’t change a thing as the lessons I learnt, adventures I had and places I explored shaped me into the person I am today, and I am sure many others can say the same.

As we head into the Christmas period, it is important to be thankful for all that we have. Each of us has a circle of people who have been with us through everything that 2019 has thrown as us. Family, friends, teachers, pets (yes, they count as people as they are always by our sides), team mates, coaches and anyone else that has helped and guided us through the year. These are the people that we must be thankful for, as they make living in the present incredible.

Surround yourself with these people over this holiday period, be thankful for them and live every minute, knowing that they will always have your back.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][mk_image src=”https://girlshapedflames.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/2019.jpeg” image_size=”medium” caption_location=”outside-image” align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1576126003781{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]I have been a part of Girl Shaped Flames for nearly two years now after stumbling over an advertisement on Facebook for one of the first roundtable events. Being part of this incredible company has helped me to learn more about the world and myself than I ever thought possible.

Each event has opened my mind to the potential that my future holds and taught me that we must chase our dreams as this will create happiness and confidence. Creating Instagram posts, writing the Girl Now blogs and that first interview blog post I did (read it here) has shaped me into the person I am today. I have learnt to write for a wide audience, how to engage people and how to manage my time. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][mk_image src=”https://girlshapedflames.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/happy.png” image_size=”medium” caption_location=”outside-image” align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1575935319148{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone and remember, live every moment as it comes to you!
