Those of you who were lucky enough to come along to our Queensland Urban Utilities parent-daughter breakfast were treated to just the tip of the iceberg of all the incredible and important work that is achieved within the QUU network!
Transformed from a heritage listed powerhouse, QUU’s Innovation Hub at Luggage Point is at the forefront of the advancement of water management systems, designing and testing ideas that benefit the environment and our communities. It is Queensland’s largest treatment plant, and one of the few places in the world where scientists can work side by side with operators, allowing them to turn research into reality right in the facility. Featuring the world’s largest replica water main (1.2km long!) scientists are able to accomplish truly groundbreaking work that transforms water networks both across Australia and overseas.
In celebration of National Science week we are going to dig right in to the QUU innovation hub, where so much of this research and scientific investigative magic happens on a daily basis.
Throughout the day, participants will:
// Hear first-hand journey stories from a range of amazing women from a wide variety of departments
// Partake in a workshop that will put scientific creative problem solving skills to the test
// Tour the amazing facilities responsible for providing the state with effective water delivery systems
// Enjoy a delicious lunch
// Get an exclusive behind the scenes look into an incredible facility which is not open to the general public
Come away enriched with real-world insight into how QUU is coming up with innovative scientific ideas and processes that revolutionise our water systems!
