ABOUT RORY

When we surveyed 260 teen girls around Australia recently, two of the key topics on their mind were 1) how to deal with anxiety, and 2) health and fitness. So you can imagine our excitement when we were introduced to Rory Maguire, Owner and Neuro-Performance specialist at Science of Fitness in Brisbane. Rory specializes in combining neurological awareness and exercises with a comprehensive range of workout practices to combat stress and anxiety.

Now these guys know what they are doing – currently training national and international level athletes across over 20 sporting backgrounds. The SOF team continue to work with amazing female athletes past and present including Charlotte Caslick (Olympic Rugby 7’s), Bronte Barratt (Olympic Swimmer), Ashleigh Kearney (Australian Touch Football), and Kimberley Ravaillion (Australian Netball). The SOF method incorporates neuroscience, biomechanics, physiological and psychological elements to maximise, as the best we can, an athlete’s potential.

Rory has studied Functional Neurology and has a background in exercise physiology and strength and conditioning. He has been working in the high-performance industry for many years and has also enjoyed working with the wider community through group fitness and other training regimes.

Rory will be supported by his brother, Kieran Maguire who has completed a Bachelor of Exercise Science and is currently completing a Masters degree in strength and conditioning. Kieran has a wealth of experience working with high performance teams and individuals and both he and Rory place a great emphasis on perfecting the mind so that the body may follow.
