Courage: the quality of mind or spirit that empowers you to make a difficult decision or action when risk is involved, real or imagined.
Camp Courage is a unique 3-day residential experience that provides teen girls (Grades 7-12) the tools to build their own sense of self, confidence, and opinions – and leave with the increased courage and skills to succeed in school, relationships, work and life.

(Hover for more info)
This is the courage most people think of first. It involves developing physical strength, resiliency, and awareness.
Explore your willingness to engage with challenging ideas, to question your thinking, even at the risk of making mistakes.
Understanding social influences, and the perceived risk of social embarrassment or exclusion, unpopularity or rejection.
Doing the right thing, particularly when risks involve opposition or the disapproval of others including ethics and integrity.
Open up to feeling the full spectrum of positive emotions, at the risk of encountering the negative ones.
Explore questions and opinions about purpose, meaning and faith and participate in goal-setting to apply your new-found Courage!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The focus of the camp is on identifying the inner fire that exists within each of us, and then developing the different areas of courage that are required in order to fan those flames and pursue goals and ambitions (including happiness, balance and passion!). The camp is best suited to girls who want to:
Understand themselves better during this critical stage of development in their lives
Build a better understanding of their own moral, social and intellectual viewpoints and decision-making
Increase their confidence and capacity to pursue their goals
Harness existing confidence to take their ambition to the next level
Meet and connect with other like-minded girls
The number of participants per camp is kept intentionally low to maximise individual attention and interaction.

Being Camp Courage, we believe it’s important to experience a sense of adventure throughout, so sleeping in traditional camping tents is a must in our books! However these are a generous step up from you usual cramped, deflated air-matress sleeping arrangements.
Instead accommodation is in twin-share luxury, waterproof, 2-person tents with spring-matresses and linen all provided (though when camping in July you might want to bring an extra sleeping bag/blanket!)
Absolutely – all food is provided across Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner (plus the odd sneaky after-dinner treat!) and is prepared on-site by own own personal camp chef. No more iceberg lettuce salads and fridge-cold sandwiches!
We’re able to cater for (most) dietary requests, so just make a note on your booking form.
While this is Camp Courage, we’re not going to be abseiling off cliffs or paddling rapids. However Ky will me running a couple of movement sessions, so just pack appropriately for the weather, for sitting on the ground at times (e.g. skirts can get tricky when you’re out and about!) and definitely closed walking shoes.
Remember, it’s going to be July and while we’re blessed in QLD with warm winters, you’ll still want to bring something to rug up around the camp fire.
Camp Courage is just for teen girls in grades 7-12 to attend – parents get to sit this one out and await your awesome stories and vigorous conversation upon your return! There will be no less that 6 x Volunteer Leaders on site at all times, along with additional Extraordinary Women interacting along the way.
All volunteers and workshop leaders have current Blue Cards.
Tanya Meessmann (FUEL Company Director) and Ky Furneaux are the two key Camp Leaders who will be on site for the full duration of both camps, and your best points of contact during the camp.
For any queries in the lead up to the camp, contact Tanya via [email protected]
Tickets are not refundable, however you are more than welcome to sell your ticket on to a friend (girl in Grade 7-12) and let us know of the new attendees details.
Yes, we have full Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurances in place, and all volunteers and workshop leaders have current Blue Cards.
