May: Mother’s Day

In May, we celebrate mothers. We celebrate all that they do for us, their constant guidance and support and the love that they have for us. This month’s blog is a little different in the sense that it is a ‘thank you’ note from teenagers to their mothers (or extraordinary motherly figures in their lives).

Now, I’m not going to be able to write everything down that we want to say thank you for (the list would go on for miles because of the wonderful people mothers are!) but hopefully at least for some of these things, everyone can say thank you to a motherly figure for.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][mk_image src=”https://girlshapedflames.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/img1.jpeg” image_size=”medium” align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1557452110482{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]First of all, thank you for… everything. Now, this word can encompass many different things but in this sense, it honestly means everything. From teaching us to brush our teeth, holding our hand as we took our first steps, to baking with us, helping us through stressful times at school and chatting as we drive in the car to school, thank you. This ‘thank you’ should be said more often because the number of things that mothers do is astounding (and we only grow more thankful with each one!)

Thank you for showing us the way to be the best version of ourselves we can. Through your actions and words, you are showing us teenagers how to become incredible, caring adults. It may be unknown to some mothers, but nothing you do goes unnoticed. We see the way you work hard, talk with others and succeed in anything you put you mind to and seeing these qualities in you become a guide for us in terms of how amazing people act.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][mk_image src=”https://girlshapedflames.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/img4.jpeg” image_size=”medium” caption_location=”outside-image” align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1557452146205{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Thank you for always knowing the right thing to say. As teenagers, there are times when we need heartfelt advice, times when we need someone to just tell us it’s going to be ok and times when we need someone to tell us to get back out there and keep going. Whenever we get knocked down, thank you for always being there to dust us off (literally or figuratively) and helping us to stand tall to be ready to take on anything. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][mk_image src=”https://girlshapedflames.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/img2.jpeg” image_size=”medium” align=”center”][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1557452191882{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Lastly, thank you for helping us navigate this world, day by day. Words can never explain the feeling of knowing that we have our mother standing by our side to support and guide us. Having a mum who we know will stand by our side and help us in anything we do makes living each day the best it can be.

Happy Mother’s Day 2019,

Holly.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1547438893413{background-image: url(https://girlshapedflames.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/gsf-image-background-purple.jpg?id=4898) !important;}”][vc_column][mk_button dimension=”outline” size=”xx-large” letter_spacing=”8″ url=”https://girlshapedflames.com/mailing-list/” align=”center” fullwidth=”true” id=”#” margin_top=”15″ outline_skin=”custom” outline_active_text_color=”#ffffff” outline_hover_bg_color=”rgba(255,255,255,0.41)”]
